GO GREEN!

Modern work spaces today are being designed with a holistic approach that its design, operation and set up reduces and mitigates negative impact on environment and enhances the positive impact on our climate by conserving natural and man made resources, thus improving sustainability, improving the quality of life. While the whole building can be designed in a manner that is inline with IGBC or WGBC guidelines, it is imperative that the interiors focus on energy efficiency, daylight harvesting, efficient ventilation , air circulation and is collaborative in nature to facilitate operational efficiencies. Use of LED as light sources, harnessing technology like IR and Motion Sensors when coupled with IoT and PoE  can go a long way in predictive maintenance, enabling hot desking and conserving energy. Use of collaborative and loose furniture in turn can facilitate operational efficiencies while adapting to the quick changing needs in a dynamic workspace, while ergonomics, creative designs, pleasing hues in interiors contribute to employee well-being. While WFH is the current normal (I do not see it as the New Normal) as induced by CoVid 19, my personal views are that eventually, people would return to offices, sooner than later. For human beings are social in nature and teams deliver far better than individuals working in isolation. So while all seems to be static, the offices of today may just have to be tweaked a bit to allow social distancing, and there we will have the spaces go live again! Hopefully, very soon.
