The Ornate Building Locked in Time…Ancient thru’ Contemporary

As I walked the streets of Lucknow near the Chotta Imambara, soaking in hustle & bustle of the street, an ornate structure caught my eye. There was a function going on the the Imambara, even though I had the ticket, I was told I could come back the next day and use the same ticket to enter as right then, it was partially out of bounds. Not wanting to go back without seeing this imposing monument - 'The Palace of Lights' as it is also known, I decided to come back the next day. As I came out, I captured the structure on the opposite side of the street and it's sheer beauty lingered on in my mind, haunting me with an insatiable desire to see what it looked like once the lamps were lit. While I will talk of the Imambara on another day, let me present to you with the night view of this ornate structure that seems to stay locked between the Day and Night, the Ancient Past through the Contemporary Times. And Perhaps will remain so for many decades to come......To be continued...
